Half Cents
Cents
1898 Indian Cent NGC PR65BN $550
Get this baby under a light, briefly tilt and rotate it, and you will be rewarded to a view that blows away that which is seen in my images!
*NEW*
1941-D Lincoln Cent PCGS MS67RD $575
There are a few things I feel that you should know about this coin... First, I don't think it merits its "RD"
designation, as it clearly has mellowed to a "RB" hue. Second, a number of others graded MS67RD have sold for
less than $200 at public auction. Third, therefore, the price I paid and am asking for this one is insane. Fourth, this coin, owing to its striking rose and green iridescence, accompanied by golden-orange color, is awesome looking, even more so than is apparent in my images.
Two Cent Pieces
*NEW*
1864 Large Motto Two Cent Piece PCGS MS66BN $1350
I knew that this grade and color designation had to be a very low population, as I didn't remember having
seen one before. But I was still caught off guard to see that the PCGS Population Report shows only 2 MS66BN 1864 Large Motto's, and just 6 for all dates in the series. That aside, this particular example is a pleasing glossy brown in hue, with some enticing red-orange and steel-blue highlights scattered about the surfaces on each side. Additionally, the strike is above average and the color is more vibrant and appealing in-hand.
Three
Cent Pieces
*NEW*
1880 Three Cent Nickel PCGS/CAC MS66 $1650
An especially nice business strike Three Cent Nickel, exhibiting a pale golden hue and a sharp strike, along with mark-free surfaces. It is also more eye appealing than several others of this date and grade that I have encountered.
1882
Three Cent Nickel PCGS PR65 $635
Faintly toned and with clear, deeply reflective surfaces, though they
do not appear as such in the images.
1883 Three Cent Nickel PCGS/CAC PR66 $950
Housed in an older green label PCGS holder, this example displays absolutely
superb surfaces and a barely perceptible patina.
Nickels
1903 Liberty Nickel NGC/CAC PR66 $925
Deep, watery mirror surfaces display faint lemon-lime and lilac toning on
each side. A tiny reverse tick, which can only be seen under magnification,
might be all that keeps it from a PR67.
*NEW*
1907 Liberty Nickel NGC PR65 $625
From an original Proof mintage of 1475 pieces, making it the lowest in the series, with one, much rarer
and more costly exception - the 1913! The 1907 trades as a common date, despite the aforementioned mintage
and the fact that a few other dates show total Proof populations in excess of roughly double it. Here is an appealing toned example for your consideration.
*NEW*
1936 Type 1 Buffalo Nickel NGC PR66 Star $2100
If NGC awarded double stars in addition to single ones, this coin would have received two, rather than one. This issue is not especially tough to locate at this grade level. But go ahead and try to find one as colorful and magnificent looking. If you decide to take me up on that challenge, I'd suggest that you be prepared to be incredibly patient.
Half Dimes
*NEW* 1853 Arrows Seated Liberty Half Dime PCGS MS64 $575
Sharply detailed with fresh looking luster emanating from beneath pale sea-green patina. The color is lighter and the luster brighter than appears in the images. Nice quality for the grade and price.
*NEW* 1860 Legend Obverse Seated Liberty Half Dime PCGS MS65 $895
From the Heritage April, 2006 CSNS sale wherein it was described as "1860 H10C MS65 PCGS. V-3a. Lime-green and ocean-blue borders cede to mauve-tinged centers. A well struck and splendidly preserved Gem. UNITED is nicely die doubled.(Registry values: N1793)."
I like it a lot, despite the fact that CAC declined to award a sticker to it.
Dimes
*NEW*1879
Legend Obverse Seated Liberty Dime NGC MS66 $1500
At first glance, this dazzling example could easily be mistaken for a Proof, but it is indeed an extremely impressive
and appealing looking business strike. The fully prooflike surfaces are beautifully toned on each side in shades of blue-green, purple and lemon-lime and are extremely well preserved.
A beauty, though CAC declined to award a sticker to this coin.
1938 Mercury Dime NGC/CAC PR67 $925
Delicately and attractively toned with traces of stunning iridescence at
portions of the borders, as well.
Twenty
Cent Pieces
Quarters
*NEW*1928-S Standing Liberty Quarter PCGS/CAC MS66 $750
Lustrous and clean, with a pale golden obverse and an essentially color-free reverse. Excellent quality for the assigned grade and price. Please note that the coin is turned in the holder so that Ms. Liberty looks to be standing on her head. And, while this is a nice coin, it probably wont make you stand on YOUR head.
Half Dollars
*NEW*
1908-D Barber Half Dollar PCGS MS65 $3975
Full, sparkling cartwheel luster emanates from beneath lovely, lightly mottled toning in a blend of golden-orange, green, grape and blue-gray. Very few flaws are evident and the overall look is certainly that of an unquestionable "gem", regardless of the grading standards of any particular time. This is a "common date", despite the fact that a few other issues in the series have populations which are 50% or more higher. A superior business strike Barber Half.
Dollars
1876-S
Trade Dollar PCGS/CAC MS63 $2850
The first of two unusually appealing business strike 1876-S Trade Dollars.
This one is delicately toned in pale orange and lilac shades. It is also
well struck and lustrous, and far more attractive than many of MS63's
I encounter.
*NEW*
1881-S Morgan Dollar NGC/CAC MS67 $950
A sharp, lustrous, colorful, extremely well preserved Morgan Dollar. What more could you ask for other than that it be free? Sorry, it's not.
*NEW*
1882-CC Morgan Dollar PCGS MS65 $550
Approximately 80% of the obverse is draped with colorful patina in shades of green, violet and orange, while the reverse is color-free. The obverse color and luster are somewhat muted by my images. A mint made grease streak is apparent on the obverse at the IB in PLURIBUS and is mentioned for the sake of accuracy.
1883-CC Morgan dollar NGC MS65 $500
Sharp and frosty with a yummy toned obverse.
1925 Peace Dollar NGC MS66 $850
Another great looking Peace Dollar, this one with a sharp strike and gentle,
yet colorful toning on both sides. This is not your everyday, generic
MS66 Peace Dollar!
Commemoratives
Norfolk NGC MS67 $595
Lightly toned and with some delicate, but yummy red and yellow hues at portions
of the obverse periphery. Norfolk's are often well preserved and this and
the one which follows below are no exceptions. In this case, not being an
exception can be a good thing.
Gold
1885
Gold Dollar NGC/CAC MS65 $2600
The blend of mint frost, luster and delicate golden-orange color on this
little jewel combine to produce a halo effect around the portrait of Liberty.
The Type lll Gold Dollar design offers a run of dates which are well preserved,
eye-appealing and still affordable. The example herein offered is no exception.
